The Wessex Water Customer Challenge Group (CCG) is an independent body that plays a key role in representing the interests and needs of Wessex Water’s customers. Formerly known as the Wessex Water Partnership, it has been operating since 2016.
Its role includes:
- monitoring and reporting on Wessex Water’s delivery of all aspects of Ofwat’s final regulatory settlement from the perspective of its customers, including scrutinising and assessing its delivery against its outcomes and measures of success
- providing advice and challenge to Wessex Water on any proposal to share our performance with customers over and above the requirements of the regulatory settlement
- providing advice and challenge the company on policy areas such as customer engagement, customer service, affordability, vulnerability and tariffs
- providing advice and challenging the company on its preparation for the next price review and its business plan for 2025-2030, particularly to ensure customers’ views feed into the business plan and to review and assess the company’s approach to affordability and vulnerability.
Chaired by Dan Rogerson, former Minister for Water, the Challenge Group comprises members from various organisations representing customers and stakeholders including CCW, Age UK, Citizens Advice and the Environment Agency.
The CCG is supported by an independently chaired catchment panel.
